Because of the lack of staffing you use the app to try to order food or drinks but that also is a crapshoot. Photos generally do not load into it well as it uses facial recognition instead of your medallion so you have to go to the Photo area and have someone fix that and photos is closed for much of the cruise Also good luck with people downloading all their photos on the last day of the cruise using the crappy Wi-Fi because once you leave they’re gone. Your shore excursions never load into it, your appointments, dinners, and so forth also do not load into it. Shipmate chat has no alerts so unless you actually go into the app and look at chats you’ll never know someone sent one to you so you end up with regular texting outside the app. I saw long lines of people at the help desk with spinning wheels of death on their phones. Runs on ship’s wi-fi which is already incredibly poor (not just kind of slow, straight up bad) so loading, ordering, or checking something is a crapshoot. It has been said before, and it warrants repeating the app is required so my suggestion is to familiarize yourself with everything on the app, and most of all be patient because you will wait. I think the variety of items that you can order off the app is decent, but could be better. 40 minutes is common for food and 30 for drinks plus if you ordered two somewhere on the ship that you have to play on staying there until your order arrives. It doesn’t matter what you order it will come in order for you to receive it. My suggestion is whatever you order order two or three of them. You can check it times do change and do come available as other guest can cancel reservations in there for those times and locations become available. The general dining room stayed for prayer entire cruise and never did get to dine there. They were easy to book on the app but you do compete for ideal dining times. Dining in the Skagway and Ketchikan dining rooms was a very nice experience. If you haven’t already made specialty reservations then you will probably be out unless you’re willing to wait an hour or two, or longer to get a seat. It will even find your friends and family that you link to the app. It will show you every deck and the location on everything on board. We ordered beverages package and thus we used the app so many times and I hope Princess could improve and develop this app more as the idea behind is very good. App lose connection easily so keep logging in and out to keep your self activated. We also found many orders that we did not make included in our original orders and we didn’t receive them so we tried to indicate this to customer service but they only ask us to clear orders without trying to understand what is going on “her name was Hana, she is nice but” they are not looking to improve their service. It’s true that most of our issues weren’t fixed but that tough us to order one items at time so MAKE SURE To ORDER one item at time through the app. And to clear those orders, you need to call customer service or chat over their chat section within the app or go to customer service at their stations. The app is pretty convenient and easy to use, yet many of our food orders got being active in Current status menu even though we already received our orders. The idea behind the app is fantastic yet they’re many glitches and errors come with the app. Whether you’re traveling solo or vacationing with the whole extended family, you’ll have all kinds of ahh-inducing cruise rooms to choose from, like affordable connecting staterooms that are perfect for groups, romantic rooms for couples craving rejuvenation and relaxation, and even a thrill-filled Ultimate Family Suite with a private game room and in-suite slide.Used the app through our cruise with Princess to Alaska It all starts with the boldest cruise ships at sea - and ours have won awards for everything from world class dining and spectacular entertainment, to record-setting onboard thrills and groundbreaking innovation.
